In No. 17170, Northwest Carriers, Inc. and its workmens compensation insurance carrier, the State Insurance Fund, petitioned the Industrial Commission for reimbursement from the Second Injury Fund for benefits paid to Herbert Merz, an injured worker. In case No. 17245 Melvin Ingersoll and his workmens compensation insurance carrier, the State Insurance Fund, petitioned for similar relief regarding Richard Camp. For practical purposes, both cases are actions by the State Insurance Fund against the Second Injury Fund. The two cases have been consolidated.
